Privacy Policy
Last updated July 29, 2026
Crapple Maps helps you find public restrooms and (if you're into it) log your visits. This policy explains what we collect and why. Short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the app, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything yourself.
What we collect
- Account info — email address, username, display name, and avatar when you create an account (via email, Apple, or Google sign-in).
- Location — used on-device to show restrooms near you and to center the map. Your live location is not stored on our servers. If you log a visit or add a restroom, the location you choose for that entry is saved as part of it.
- Content you create — logs, comments, likes, reviews, photos, restroom submissions, and saved places.
- Analytics and tracking — none. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
How it's used
- To operate the app: showing nearby restrooms, your feed, and your profile.
- To moderate the community: reports you submit are reviewed and acted on.
- Never for selling to third parties, and never for third-party advertising.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage). Map tiles and geocoding are provided by Google Maps; searching an address or looking up a restroom's street address sends that query to Google.
Sharing and visibility
Logs can be public or private — private logs are visible only to you and followers you approve. Restrooms you add appear on the public map. Comments and likes are visible to anyone who can see the post they're on.
Deleting your data
In the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, logs, comments, likes, photos, and saved places. Restrooms you contributed stay on the map, anonymized. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Children
Crapple Maps is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
